# Search and quick access

Search and quick access are the fastest way to jump to a model, board, database, or shared resource when you already know what you need.

## Use search for known-item navigation

Search is best when you know the name of the model, variable, report, or workspace item you want.

## Use quick access for repeat work

Favorites, recent items, and quick-open patterns are useful when you return to the same resources every day.

## Keep quick access intentional

If everything is starred, nothing is quick access anymore. Keep the list short and relevant to your current workflow.
