A board can include a model view or database view when the saved slice itself is part of the reporting workflow.

When embedding a view helps

Embed a view on a board when:
  • the same filtered slice is reused in more than one place
  • the audience may need to open the underlying detail from the board
  • the filtering and grouping rules should stay defined in one source
  • a board section should stay aligned with a named review surface

When a board-native element is better

Use a board-native KPI, chart, or table when:
  • you only need one metric or one visual summary
  • the logic is specific to that board and does not need a reusable standalone view
  • the audience needs presentation first and raw detail second

Remember the board stays tied to the source

An embedded view is still connected to the source definition. If the source view changes, the board changes too. Recheck important boards after model structure changes, database schema changes, or view updates.
