# Sharing views

> Share views so other people can work from the right slice of a model or database.

A shared view is the supported way to give people a focused slice of a model or database without sending them to the full source.

## When to share a view

Share a view when people need:

* a recurring review surface
* team-specific access to one slice of the source
* a reusable filtered definition for planning or data review
* a cleaner handoff than the full model or database

## Private views are not yet supported

Oculon does not support private views yet. Treat saved views as team-facing assets, and create them when the definition is ready to be reused or reviewed by others.

## Review before you share

Before you share a view:

* confirm the filters show only the intended content
* confirm the source model or database is current
* confirm the audience can access the source and any linked board context they need
* preview the view the way the audience will use it

## Choose the right surface

Share a view when people need filtered detail. Share a board when they mainly need a curated presentation of the result.
